Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony performed John Adams' "Short Ride in a Fast Machine" as part of the Orchestra's Centennial Season Opening Gala in September 2011. A recording of the performance is available on a Grammy winning album and as part of the "San Francisco Symphony at 100" DVD and Blu-ray, both available from sfsymphony.org/store.
