I consider this to be the last song Neal and I will ever write together on this earth. This was a melody that we had began working on a few months back; in preparation for his upcoming "comeback" album "In The Middle of It All" with a target release of 2019! I felt like he would want to finish it and these lyrics felt appropriate. I pray that it means something to all who knew Neal and cherished their time with him. Next time you feel the wind on your face, listen close... you might just hear him singing you a melody of your own. Always, Brandon K. Guttenfelder Verse1: Tonight my world has changed It’s a little darker place Gone are the days of old Never to return again I knew the time would come I just didn’t think today I’d be racking by brain, Try’n to find the perfect way to say… Chorus1: Goodbye, my friend; the lyrics to our songs We’ll see you again Not sure how long, I’ll have to wait To hear you sing our melodies again But, until then… I’ll be listen’n for you, in the wind Verse2: Blood didn’t make us brothers Our hearts just beat the same Remembering you won’t be hard Cause, our songs will never change The sun woke me up today With your smile on his face But, when he winked, I knew It was just your perfect way to say… Chorus2: Goodbye, my friend; the music to our songs We’ll see you again Not sure how long, I’ll have to wait To hear you play our melodies again But, until then… I’ll be sing’n for you, in the wind Chorus3: Goodbye, my friend; the lyrics to our songs We’ll see you again Not sure how long, I’ll have to wait To hear you sing our melodies again But, until then… I’ll play as you sing, in the wind
