Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam is an eminent Carnatic music vocalist. As a student and performer of classical music for over three decades, she has performed extensively in India and abroad since the age of twelve. In June 2007, she brought out a book "Apoorva Kriti Manjari" -- a collection of twenty rare compositions of the Trinity of Carnatic Music. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
