Look forward to some magnificent new releases this summer, including ▶ GEORGE GERSHWIN PLAYED BY THE BERLINER PHILHARMONIKER Enjoy some of George Gershwin’s all time favorite songbook classics such as An American in Paris, Rhapsody in Blue and highlights from Porgy and Bess ▶ SEIJI OZAWA AT THE MATSUMO FESTIVAL Seiji Ozawa is not only one of Japan’s best known conductors but also the founder of the Saito Kinen Festival Matsumoto, better known as the Seiji Ozawa Festival. In this all Beethoven program he conducts the popular Beethoven Symphonies Nos 2 & 7. Bonus: Beethoven Choral Fantasy op. 80 c-minor played by Martha Argerich & choir ▶ ANTONÍN DVOŘÁK: REQUIEM OP. 89 Philippe Herreweghe, principal conductor of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic, has devoted himself for over ten years to fresh and invigorating readings of the (pre-) Romantic repertoire. Together with the Collegium Vocale, founded in 1970 by Philippe Herreweghe himself, and superb soloists they perform Dvořák’s superb Requiem. ▶ CHARLES GOUNOD: FAUST Charles-François Gounod’s Faust was once one of the most famous and most performed of all operas and is still cherished today. This is the first performance at the Salzburg Festival!
