Bruno Monsaingeon is not only one of the most outstanding music film directors but also a passionate violinist, writer and a great devotee of languages, as he is fluent in English and Russian and also able to easily communicate in German and Italian alongside his mother tongue French. In order to receive the most personal and individual result he takes as much time as he needs to prepare and shoot his films, which are always shot in the first language of his portrayed artists. With their trust they give rise to highly personal, insightful and atmospherically rich testimonies of themselves and particularly of their thoughts and its contemporary historical background. His grand oeuvre of films hitherto contains 85 films. In honour of this occasion the Bruno Monsaingeon Edition consisting of various individual editions with films by the director will be published. These editions are dedicated to legendary artists like Yehudi Menuhi, Sviatoslav Richter, David Oïstrakh, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Guennadi Rozhdestvensky as well as Julia Varady and will be presented in a high-grade box consisting of a book and multiple DVDs in German, French and English. Ample pictorial and text material will be forming the editorial foundation in the respective book. The first edition including six DVDs is dedicated to the sensational lifetime achievement of none other than the once-in-a-century singer Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and will be published in October 2013 in memory of his death last year. Besides his extraordinarily long stage career of over 50 years Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau was also a conductor, writer, painter, reciter and teacher.
