On Jan 6th,2011 Timothy Geithner sent a public letter to Harry Reid where he clearly stated that he U.S. Government will default on its debt if the debt ceiling is not raised. The letter can be viewed at: www.treasury.gov/connect/blog/Pages/letter.aspx The implication is clear: The U.S. is insolvent.
