Lazy Eye (Amblyopia) and Strabismus Success Story. Travis and his Mom tell their strabismus treatment story about how Travis' crossed eye was totally cured -- without any lazy eye or strabismus surgery, drugs, medications, or eye patching treatment programs -- by in-office eye doctor supervised Vision Therapy eye exercises. Travis did not just straighten the cosmetic appearance of his eyes! He improved his overall vision and gained 3D depth perception and better peripheral vision! Before Vision Therapy fixed his strabismus, Travis' lack of 3D stereo vision and depth perception actually endangered him! He couldn't see the cars when crossing the roads or in busy parking lots! He was accident-prone. He couldn't throw or catch a ball. He was scared to walk down stairs because he couldn''t see in depth perception. Travis bumped into things and lost things a lot. His mother was really worried and found out that Vision Therapy could fix lazy eye without strabismus surgery even in older children and adults. Now, thanks to Vision Therapy, Travis sees with both eyes together (eye teaming, stereopsis or stereoscopic vision, and binocular vision). Travis can now safely judge where objects and his body are in space because he has normal depth perception. He can see the oncoming traffic, etc. with his peripheral vision. He can see the ball when he throws and catches. He can see 3D movies clearly and easily. In this video, Travis and his vision therapist demonstrate some of the eye exercises in his Vision Therapy program that straightened / corrected his lazy eye. Travis worked with Dr. Carole Hong of Optometric Center for Family Vision Care and Vision Therapy in San Carlos, CA at www.familyvisioncare.org.
