Daniel overcame his problems with anxiety, learning disabilities, and more with Vision Therapy as a teenager. Before Vision Therapy, Daniel struggled with extreme challenges with constant anxiety, poor concentration, low self confidence and self esteem. He also struggled with academic achievement, time management and organizational skills. Before Vision Therapy, Daniel was troubled and frustrated with his inability to do, complete or finish reading, homework and/or work assignments. Schoolwork, desk work and homework caused Evan high anxiety, confusion, frustration, headaches, and eyestrain. Daniel was also awkward and uncoordinated before his issues were resolved by Vision Therapy. Before Vision Therapy, he was clumsy with all types of coordination or sports activities such as ball games, walking, balancing, learning to ride a bicycle, and hand-eye coordination. Before VT, Daniel was just very uncomfortable moving around in space and had poor posture, balance, and gait. In general, most physical activities and sports made him anxious. Now, after Vision Therapy, Daniel still does not like sports but he can do them now and he is successful with hand-eye coordination activities, like drawing now. Hear Daniel and his mother tell his story about successfully overcoming these problems with a program of Vision Therapy supervised by an eye doctor (optometrist). Diagnoses or eye symptoms: Daniel was diagnosed as having retained primitive reflexes with developmental delays, such as visual-motor and sensory integration deficits, including poor eye tracking, eye teaming and eye focusing. One of his diagnoses was convergence insufficiency. Daniel’s eye doctor explained that Daniel’s problems with balance, gross motor coordination, fine motor coordination, eye hand coordination, etc. were causing his anxiety and this was proven when Daniel's anxiety was resolved by the therapy. He no longer has retained primitive reflexes and his gait, etc. has normalized. He has much more confidence in his skill levels overall and is able to achieve his goals now. Daniel did his Vision Therapy with Dr. Rose Hopkins in Greenville, SC at www.hopkinseyecenter.com.
