Red Cabbage (re-upload)

submitted by maxplayer on 03/22/14 1

Another recipe demo for Karen and anyone else who's interested. Red cabbage, cooked or uncooked, keeps fairly long so it's a good thing to buy at the beginning of the week and use by the end of the week. This is a delicious German recipe that my mother made often when we were kids. Germans eat a lot of cabbage, red or other, which is why they are sometimes called 'Krauts'. 'Kraut' literaly means cabbage in German! I recently learned that the word 'spices' on a label is nother word for MSG! How deceitful! Now I will have to completely re-think my use of tomato paste and anything else that says 'spices'.
