The focus of this video is connecting MySQL Workbench to our MySQL server. Fortunately, this is fairly easy. When you open MySQL Workbench, you will already have a localhost connection set up. Double click this and type in your credentials: This password is the password you put in for your root account in the previous video. You can see in this video there is a service of mysql@127.0.0.1:3306. This is what is known as a loopback address, and it always points to your machine. This is the equivalent of localhost. It will always be 127.0.0.1 no matter what device you are on. It is an IP address that always refers to that specific device you are working on. In addition to connecting to our database server, we ran our first SQL command inside of MySQL Workbench, learned about schemas, and where we need to go to create a database design. We briefly discussed panels and how to enable and disable different panels. The most important thing to get from this video is how to connect to your MySQL sever. That's because I am assuming you have done this for the rest of the series. Be sure to show some love by clicking like on the video!
