Defensive Line: Lift and Flip Series

submitted by Fourthquarter on 02/17/18 1

Disrupting the quarterback is one of the best ways to combat a strong passing attack. This summer during one of USA Football's 17 Regional Development Camps, Ohio State assistant Vince Oghobaase showed young defensive linemen some of the basics of getting to the quarterback. The lift and flip series teaches a combination of pass-rushing moves that defensive linemen can learn from only one basic hand-fighting pattern. By lining two opposing players face to face, one playing offensive line and the other defensive line, the defensive player can practice lifting and flipping the offensive player's arms and hips to get by on the way to the quarterback.
