Hi, I’m Rhonda Burger, a nurse navigator with the Nebraska Spine Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. I’m a registered nurse with twenty plus years of experience in working with the spine population. As a nurse navigator at the Nebraska Spine Hospital, I can assist and help you prepare for your upcoming surgical procedure. You have the opportunity to meet with me preoperatively during our prelim visit. here we can discuss what needs to be done for you to prepare for your upcoming surgery in regards to what medication to take, what medication to avoid the morning of your surgery, and also any specific preparation you may need in regards to your surgery. Some surgeries you need a bowel prep, most surgeries you need to complete a shower the night before to help reduce the risk of infection. All these are important parts and pieces you need to complete to prepare for your upcoming surgery. During your stay at the Nebraska Spine Hospital, we can help you put your mind and ease and make your feel prepared to manage after your spine surgery. We use a collaborative effort, a team consisting of physical therapists, occupational therapists, myself, and nursing, all who are specialized in taking care of the spine patient. Our number one goal is for you to be safe, at home, and be as independent as possible. After you leave the hospital, I will be contacting you in about forty eight hours and at thirty days to see how you're doing after your surgery. I want to make sure things are going okay, you’re feeling okay, and, overall, check to see to make sure that we have put an exclamation point on the success of your surgery.
