In the last few years, there have been more and more reports of the 'zombie disease' afflicting children in Uganda, Sudan, and Tanzania. It started around 1988, with most cases occurring around 2003. Some say it is an older disease of which the symptoms were reported in Tanzania as far back as 1962, but it is possible that these are two different illnesses with similar symptoms. What is causing this incurable 'Zombie disease' aka 'nodding disease' is a mystery, but some suspect it may be related to vaccine trials conducted in the regions where it has appeared. There is also a connection to onchocerciasis and possibly also to GMO foods eaten in relief camps, or pesticides found on these foods.
