The other day, Senator Rand Paul held a fillubuster for twelve hours straight to prevent the passage of another law approving the use of drones to kill Americans. I know that the US government has already given the okay to kill Americans fighting against US forces overseas (which they used as an excuse to kill Anwar Al-Awlaki and his son), and they are already using drones (which kill about 170 civilians, including children, for every intentional target they hit). The next step would be to okay the use of drones to kill Americans in GWOT theaters of war. Rand Paul took a brave stand against this the other day (I hope he got some good rest after that!) and he is not the only one saying this could pave the way to drones being used against Americans on US soil down the road.
