So I went to La Ronde with my friend Vickie and our kids for a nice 'blue pill day' but our fun was undermined by the park not only refusing to let her go somewhere private to medicate, but nearly kicking her out of the park just for asking about it! Vickie suffers from trigeminal neuralgia and several other painful conditions including a cyst in her brain, and was in severe pain by half-way through the day. She kept up a brave face for the sake of her kids, but her pain was taking a visible toll on her. Six Flags says they have a 'strict policy against illegal drugs' but medical cannabis with a permit is not illegal. Vickie has the same permit classification as cancer patients because her pain is so severe and her condition so debilitating. It is really time that institutions and corporations be obligated to respect patients' rights to take ANY kind of medicatioin, including cannabis. Some people rely on this to safeguard their vision, prevent seizures, ease symptoms of cerebral palsy, relieve pain associated with cancer. This is not something to mess around with. Vickie later went to the media with her story and it has been all over the radio and papers here in Canada today.
