Leonard Rossiter stars as Pygmalion 'Smithy' Smith, a photographer with dreams of making a star of a local fish filleter. A Comedy Playhouse pilot which was not commissioned into a series. Written by Roy Clarke, he later revisited the photographer idea with Ronnie Barker ten years later in The Magnificent Evans.
