The Technology Department of Northport High School has partnered with Project Lead The Way (PLTW), the leading provider of rigorous and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) education curricular programs, to offer several courses that engage students in activities-, projects-, and problem-based (APPB) learning, which provides hands-on classroom experiences. These courses are offered to any student in the high school, however it is recommended that students acquire the requistite math and science before attempting some courses. All of these courses are weighted for GPA/Class Rank purposes, and students are eligible to receive college credit from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
