Dec. 17 release date - One of my favorite game EVER is getting a remaster in HD, by Night Dive Studio. Night Dive Studios recently announced an HD remaster of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter for PC, and now it has a release date: December 17, 2015. In other words, this Thursday. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter originally came out in 1997 for Nintendo 64 and PC, trading typical first-person trappings for dinosaurs and and a wilderness setting, based on the Turok comic series. It was well received, and spawned a sequel that received similarly high praise in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, but under different developers, more recent games haven't fared as well. The HD remaster has stripped the Dinosaur Hunter subtitle, and is simply called Turok - not to be convinced with 2008's Turok, another adaptation of the comic that's unrelated to Iguana Entertainment's series. It sports a new visual engine and other "exciting new features". Night Dive is also working on an HD remaster of Turok 2, which doesn't yet have a release date. They've made a name for themselves remastering '90s-era PC games for modern audiences; most notably, cult favourites System Shock, System Shock 2, and I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. They also have a full remake of the first System Shock in the works, and have licensed OtherSide Entertainment to develop System Shock 3.
