Takes place 16 years after the 1st game (a year after Dead Rising 3) a new outbreak has resulted in the Williamette Memorial Megaplex Mall being overrun by zombies, history repeats itself as Frank has to discover the cause of this new outbreak. Gameplay wise it seems Dead Rising 4 will retain the bigger open world from Dead Rising 3 as Frank can now travel outside the mall and explore Willamette, as well as bringing in more combo weapons. As Frank has been infected since the end of the first game it's not known as of now if Frank will be able to find and use Zombrex like he could in Off the Record. However, in the events of Dead Rising 3, it was stated at the end of the game that Nick was the cure so it's possible that Frank doesn't need Zombrex.
