One of Freddy Cannon's first hits was "Way Down Yonder In New Orleans", and was released on a 45 single on Swan Records, and included in his first album "The Explosive Freddy Cannon" (Swan LP 502). Swan Records was one of the labels in Philadelphia, and artists from that label - along with Chancellor and Cameo (two other Philly labels) were often featured on the local show "American Bandstand" - which was hosted by Dick Clark and televised nationwide. After Freddy had a number of hits on Swan, he transferred to the Warner Bros label. Produced by Frank Slay, Jr. and Bob Crewe.
