After the success of their hit single, "Long Lonely Nights" Lee Andrews & the Hearts had their second big doo wop hit - "Tear Drops" written by Roy Calhoun, Barry Golder, Edwin Charles, Helen Stanley in 1958. Released on the Chess label, it reached #20 on the Billboard Pop and #4 on the Billboard R&B charts. The group consisted of Lee Andrews (lead), Roy Calhoun (first tenor), Tammey Currey (bass) (second tenor), Ted Weems (baritone), and Wendell Calhoun (bass).
