Charted at #11 on Billboard Hot 100 in June 1959. A few years ago, I posted an alternate take, this is the actual charted single version. Kathy's biggest hit was "Billy" but this haunting song is probably her best remembered, as well as her only other Top 40 hit. Its success led to Kathy recording a number of other songs with "Jimmy" in the title. In the UK, "Goodbye Jimmy, Goodbye" charted at #10 for Ruby Murray. Original Billboard review: "Miss Linden sings a pretty, pretty tune of a folk nature. It's backed by a harmonica and the sound is mighty pleasant. Watch this." With Joe Leahy's Orchestra. Written by Jack Vaughn (as Jack Vaughan). B-side is "Heartaches at Sweet Sixteen" which I've also posted.
