Formally known as the Russ Hallett Trio, the boys from Buffalo, New York were asked by WKBW disc jockey Tom Shannon in 1960 to come up with a theme tune. After official release Wild Weekend flopped. Its reappearance two years later got them a Billboard #8 hit riding on the back of the surf-rock boom
