The Seekers - Georgy Girl (1966-67) HQ

This is such a nice, happy song that moves along at a fast but lovely pace. I saw the movie "Georgy Girl" a long time ago when I was a kid, and don't recall much of it, but always loved this song ... then and over the years. And my, my, what a surprise to find out that The Seekers were from Australia .. I always thought they were from Britain. I made the same mistake in 1968 when "Master Jack" was popular and thought the South African band 4 Jacks and a Jill were also from the UK. The last girl in the video I have used before in two others, but she's such an eye-catcher, I couldn't resist using some more footage of her against such a marvelous sunset for this butterfly-in-progress number. #1 in Australia and #3 in the UK, it reached #1 in the United States on Cash Box on February 18, 1967. It peaked at #2 on Billboard earlier in the month, February 4.
