Together with Patrick O. Bech, I was commissioned to score the soundtrack for director Carolyn Färber's latest film, 'Leben - Touching Life'. The film here is an edit of some scenes that we provided a bespoke soundtrack for, the actual film is much longer. The film follows the protagonist Ben, a sufferer of debilitating OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) who is forced to overcome his affliction to travel participate in a job interview. Along the way he is confronted with a series of disturbing obstacles, testing his resolve. Our aim was to compose a score that reflected Ben's nervousness, with frenetic melodies and discordant melodies, whilst not detracting from the story itself. The instrumentation was also carefully arranged by the band, Die Digitale Immigranten who wonderfully performed our score together in studio Kroess, expertly engineered by Kurt Richter (with assistance from Michi Kroess). Die Digitale are: Patrick O. Beck: Guitars,Piano, Glass Harp Clementine Gasser, 5 String Cello Florian Kogler, Electric Guitar Franz Heinrich Lirsch, Contrabass Mark Peter Royce, Piano, Electro Acoustic Programming Erwin Schober, Percussion, Drums Additional recording at Monoverlag, Wien by Till Firit and Kai Jelinek.
