Jesus uses story and illustration throughout His ministry so that his point drives deep into the heart of His listeners. He often speaks to multiple audiences at the same time, using the layers of the story to reach different people. Such is the case when two rings of listeners hear three stories of being lost and then found in Luke 15. The inner circle of listeners is composed of those who know their need for a savior. The outer circle is composed of those who believe their behavior can save them. The modern Church is filled with both today.
