Get ready to sing, dance and learn the months of the year. This is a fun country rock line dance months of the year song. Your children can follow my country dance moves as they sing the sequence of the 12 months of the year. Step front and back with your right foot as you say each month from Jan. to June, and then, on July, hop forward. Then use your left foot and step front and back from Aug. to Dec., then on “come on, let’s try” hop back. Children continue to follow me doing the country dance as they get some great exercise too. When I sing “twelve months in every year” they can spin around like I do or they can hold arms with a friend and turn around. It’s easy to follow my dance moves and sing along. Research studies show that singing words to a simple melody can really help those words stay in your memory (like the alphabet song). So, your children will really remember the twelve months of the year.
