Since the early 1970s, Sheen Educational Foundation has been providing educational enrichment programs to youth in the greater Watts area. In 2010, Sheen partnered with a charter school to construct a new campus and serve more students. The new charter campus displaced the original Sheen headquarters. Genesis LA provided Sheen with an loan to acquire and renovate a new "Sheenway House" located next to the new charter school.
