Some Shots from Glasgow’s Merchant City Festivalon the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and the Angenieux 17.5-70mm (Arri S mount version), All handheld (so its a bit shaky). Still trying this lens out in different scenarios but really beginning to like the look from it - its totally different from others i have. Its very sharp but very low contrast out the camera. It also tends to veil the highlights quite a bit - you’ll see this in shots of buildings with sky and the burger box - there is a hazy fall off / subtle blooming - Its a 1958 lens so I’m assuming the coatings, if still present are much different from those found in modern glass. I think it certainly adds to that vintage 16mm feel in the footage. The lens vignettes ever so slightly on the wide end at the closest focussing distance of 1.2m but its gone by 1.75m - that was never an issue in this footage though. I added the 2:35:1 ratio in post just because I like the look. All shot ISO 800, 5600K, Hoya PROND16 + Hoya IR CUT filter. Graded with FilmConvert / Neat Video.
