A personal project I started a long while back and it has taken ages to complete but here it is! I love stuff made of wood, especially if its old and I was keen to do some form of 'hand craft' film using my vintage Nikkor AIS prime lenses - The ultimate 'dream look' team! After some research I discovered that one of Europe's best violin makers lived very close to me in Doune. Colin Adamson makes the most incredible violins, in the style of the 17th Century Italian classical period. Everything is hard carved in the traditional way right down to a homemade recipe for the varnishes and glues; its an incredibly meticulous process that was amazing to film. Voilin Performance by Lorna Rough, RSNO Shot on 5D MkII, BMPCC with Nikkor AIS Lenses (28mm f2.8, 35mm f1.4, 50mm f1.2, 85mm f1.4). Graded in FilmConvert. www.michaelrea.co.uk
