Cutting Roses

This film was my first HDSLR project, circa 2011. The film was inspired by the song "Carnival Town" by Norah Jones, but for obvious music rights purposes the film was left unreleased. 4 years later I met a young Berklee composer, who expressed an interest in scoring the film with an original piece. As we develop our Logic Filmmersive® Workshop, it seemed a perfect opportunity for us both. Eduardo was able to compose this piece using Logic in the same amount of time we would give a typical attendee of our Logic workshop, so it serves as a great example for what one could create with 24-32 hours of training and hands-on work. On a personal note, he was able to capture the essence and mood of Jones's song while making it entirely an original composition. It proves to us once again that you absolutely CAN create the same atmosphere as a mainstream song in your films. By tapping local artists, we can prevent music label fee headaches while simultaneously giving those artists much needed exposure, and in the end the film feels more unique and special since it features music that people have NOT heard on the radio. Well done Eduardo! Filmed and Edited by Adam Nathaniel Greene Music by Eduardo Garcia Rascon © 2011 Green Lens Media, LLC. All Rights Reserved. www.GreenLensMedia.com
