撮影：February2017「南伊豆・みなみの桜と菜の花まつり」 伊豆半島の最南端にある南伊豆町にある下賀茂温泉を流れる青野川の両岸に渡って続くサクラ並木とナノハナが美しく咲き誇る。このまつりは、1999年からスタートしたイベント。青野川沿いの両岸に4.2kmには早咲きのカワヅザクラ800本とナノハナが咲きみだれ、夜にはライトアップされて夜桜見物もできる。さらに下田温泉寄りにある日野地区ではナノハナが主役となり、広大な1.5ヘクタール花畑も登場。そこでは一般公募の中から選ばれた1組のカップルが、ナノハナ花畑での挙式を挙げる光景を見学できる。 Minami-Izu Cherry Blossom Festivals Some people may think that cherry blossom festivals in Japan are only held in April, but it’s not the case in the South of Izu. Kawazu-zakura is known as one of the earliest cherry blossoms and usually begins to bloom in February. Its cherry blossoms are larger and reddish in color, and they are more brilliant. This festival is held in Minami Izu town, Cherry blossoms are in full bloom on both sides of the river, and there is a big field where a lot of rape blossoms blooming.
