It was nominated to Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in the 43rd Grammy Awards (2001), but lost to Destiny Child's "Say My Name" Lucy Pearl was an R&B supergroup formed in 1999, as the brainchild of former Tony! Toni! Toné! member Raphael Saadiq and D'Angelo. However, D'Angelo backed out of the group due to scheduling conflicts.
