2011 SWAIA Indian Market was very interesting. Paul Niemi of unclepauliesworld.blogspot.com met Juanita Growing Thunder Fogarty, who is a beader, quillworker and doll maker. This year, Juanita took first in the "Diverse Arts" category as well as "Best in Class." She was kind enough to talk to Niemi about her winning piece which was a soft sculpture horse with rider. It was exquisite. Juanita is the daughter of Joyce Growing Thunder, a three-time award-winning artist at SWAIA Indian Market. The two have collaborated all of Juanita's life.
