The Apocrypha is a set of 11 books found at the end of the Old Testament in Catholic Bibles and the Authorized 1611 King James Version of the Bible. The Roman Catholic Church considers the Apocrypha canonical while Protestantism considers it otherwise. The Roman Catholic Church considers it inspired because it supports some catholic teachings and practices, like praying for the dead and the treasury of merit. Protestantism rejects it as inspired for a variety of reasons, including the fact that it's written in Greek and Latin and the Old Testament is written in Hebrew and Greek.
