Reinvestment Fund Project Profile: Pan American Academy Charter School

submitted by New Markets Tax Credit Coalition on 06/14/17 1

Financing from The Reinvestment Fund (TRF -- www.trfund.com) is supporting the construction of a new facility for the Pan American Academy Charter School in Philadelphia. The school was founded in 2008 by Congreso de Latinos Unidos, a nationally-recognized, nonprofit organization that has been providing social, economic, education and health services to the Latino community in Philadelphia for over 30 years. The school provides one of the few dual-language education options for Philadelphia's growing Latino population. Pan American Academy Charter School's new facility will be able to accommodate over 700 students in grades K-8, the school's maximum charter enrollment. The new school will be part of a growing Congreso campus, which includes Congreso headquarters and a separate building housing several social service programs.
