Technique: Start in a quadruped position bring your right arm into flexion and bend the elbow. Reaching under your planted arm, grab the hand of your partner. The partner provides an anchor for the upper body and hips so that the client can contract and release through thoracic rotation. Advantages: Improves thoracic mobility of the spine. Can decrease the risk of upper back pain and or injuries. Faults: Faulty hand position. Starting in a position different from quadruped. Scaling: This stretch is hard to scale however there are many variations of thoracic rotation that can be utilized by one person, and or with a foam roller.
