Then at 100, she did it again and also decided to go shark cage diving! Instead of gifts for 100th birthday, her friends and family made donation to Sea Rescue and this Cape Tonian granny is a real inspiration. 9 - More than a mouthful… 81-year-old Wang Xiaobei shocked talent show viewers when she successfully pulled a 1-ton vehicle with several occupants inside, using just her teeth! She says she has a healthy body and mind, and doesn’t really feel much different than she did when she was younger. 8 - Happy Birthday! Meet Ron Yeates, who decided that instead of going out for the normal birthday meal when he turned 80 – he was going to rather do some wing walking – because why not? 7 - Fighting Fit… Paul Marshallsea is a 62-year old grandfather who has been hailed a hero. He noticed a shark swimming pretty close to the shoreline where small kids were swimming. He literally grabbed the shark and wrestled the shark to deeper waters. He was praised across the globe for being a hero. Sadly, he lost his job as a charity worker in the UK. He was apparently booked off for stress at the time, and was vacationing in Australia – and when he returned he was fired. 6 - Dance like no one’s watching… This is officially the World’s oldest flash mob – the lady leading it really does have loads of rhythm! 5 - Mr. Steal Your Grandma… That’s what this Houston teacher has been dubbed. His name is Irvin Randle and through a selfie he took of himself, he has taken the internet by storm. His got incredible fashion sense, and he really does look after himself well. Unfortunately, ladies, Mr Steal Your Grandma is already taken and very, very happy. 4 - Never too old to learn… Meet Hirata, he is a 96-year old man from Japan. Hirata was on the 1st of September 1919, and in 2016 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. This made him the world’s oldest university graduate. It took him 11 years to complete the degree at the Kyoto University, where he had initially enrolled at just for a few pottery lessons. 3 - Show Stopper… Sarah Patricia Jones – aka Paddy – decided to try something completely different after the death of her husband. She was 80 at the time. She did a bit of dancing in her youth before she got married, but stopped at 22. She began salsa lessons in Spain, where she was living, and partnered with Nico, 40 years her junior. They have participated in several talent competitions, and actually won the talent show in Spain. 2 - No commitment issues… This is 80-year old Ernestine Shepherd who began exercising at 56. She fell in love with it! At 80, she intends to carry on with her fitness routine for as long as possible, and is dedicated – she is up at 3am to begin her training! She runs, lifts weights, eats healthily and has a supportive family, which helps a great deal. 1 - Style cannot be bought… Just ask Günther Anton Krabbenhöft, a super stylish grandfather from Berlin. He was spotted by a chap who writes a fashion blog, and he photographed Gunther at a local train station. At the time, Gunther was wearing a yellow bow tie, red bowling hat and beautiful burgundy driving gloves. Gunther likes to inject happiness into his clothing, and says he wants to look at himself with joy. It’s a reflection of his inner self. Doesn’t it make you want to be a funky grandparent one day?
