FMT Band Resisted Bird Dog

submitted by sandsteelpaul on 05/13/17 1

TECHNIQUE: when performing an FMT bird dog you will place your foot into the strap itself. You raise your opposite hand and leg at the same time in one fluid motion. You pull your elbow all the way back into your knee fully rounding your back in the process. ADVANTAGES: The FMT Birdog is a correctional exercise that challenges the rotary stability control test from the Functional Movement Screen. It primarily work the transverse abs and challenges balance. FAULTS: the most common fault is not raising your arm and leg together at the same time. Second most common fault is doing the movement very quickly. This is a slow and controlled movement. SCALING: The FMT birddog can be scaled by changing the band thickness or by changing the position on the band.
