The local food revolution: Mike Small at TEDxGlasgow

submitted by Madamxtra on 04/21/17 1

Mike Small, founder of the Fife Diet local food movement in Scotland, shows how a local food revolution has swept across Europe and America as a backlash against corporate seizure of the food system. He discusses the need for 'food sovereignty' to replace the top-down notion of 'food security'. What strength does this movement have and where is it going? More about Mike... In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
