Zahed is a French-Arab Imam (religious leader) and the founder of the first European LGBTQ-inclusive mosque. He discusses how he came to terms with both his sexuality and spirituality. “I rejected Islam for a while because it was too complicated for me. How is it possible that they tell me at the Islamic school that you should not be gay, that it’s a perversion and so on.”
