Stella Versus Craftsman Guitar Review

submitted by JimBruceGuitar on 04/19/17 1

Both of these parlor guitar were built by Harmony. The length of the Old Kraftsman nearly qualifies as a standard size... but it's the same scale, 24 1/4, as the Stella. Top wood Birch Body wood Birch All solid woods (as were all Harmony acoustic guitars before the seventies) The kraftsman has a real fretboard... it's a thick maple slab which make this play and feel more like a "real" guitar. The jumbo frets also give it some feel. It's a more comfortable guitar to play with it's skinny width. I was trying to review the natural volume of these two guitars. I tried to play both at the same natural touch. But I've owned the stella for ten years and I'm very used to it. The Krafstman I've owned for 6 hours. But it has the sound... maybe not quite as tinny... cause the tail piece is located further back. But it's body gives it a better mid and treble range.. to me Don't read too much in the overall tone sense both sets of strings are old. So the Krasftman would be the natural choice for a player guitar. The Stella may win out on overall deeper-authentic tones. Deeper tones as far as the parlor guitars goes... haha. (tin can sound) Stella length: 35 3/4 Kraftsman length: is 38 Specs: Width at lower bought: Stella: 13 1/4 inch Kraftsman 13 3/8 inch Upper bout: Kraftsman 9 1/2 Stella 9 /3/8 Waist: Kraftsman 7 7/8 Stella 8 inches Width: Kraftsman 3 inches Stella 3 3/4 inches
