We received the video on Thursday evening. A kid in Mexico had taken his cell phone and recorded his neighbor beating his dog with a shovel. His mom then showed it to our clinic staff, hoping we could help. Our team immediately went to the officials. Thanks to an animal protection law recently passed in the area, cruelty charges were immediately filed and swift action was taken. Our veterinary team was allowed to accompany the police and animal control onto the property to rescue the dog and assess his wounds. They also took a second dog living on site. Thankfully both dogs are now safe. They have officially been released to CWOB. Both have received veterinary care and are stable and doing well. They will never know harm again.
