Featuring George Michael on backing vocals at song’s end, it was a top ten hit in over a dozen countries, making it one of Elton’s most popular singles of the 1980s. Directed by Ken Russell, who worked with Elton on his part as the Champ in the “Pinball Wizard” sequence of the 1975 film Tommy. The shoot took place in Kensal Rise, London with Anya Major as the border guard. The “Tudor red” Bentley Continental Convertible automobile used in the video belonged to Elton at the time.
