Dr. Ester Fride is Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at the College of Judea and Samaria, Israel. And Dr. M. Clara Sanudo-Pena is from Brown University's Schrier Research Laboratory, Department of Psychology. In 2002 they co-authored an article: "Marijuana and Movement Disorder," for the edited volume: "Biology of Marijuana." They inform us: "One of the well established effects of THC (the psychoactive chemical of marijuana) is a suppression of release of pituitary hormones, including...luteinizing hormone (from which testosterone is made)...THC also has an inhibiting effect on serum testosterone levels, and it has been shown to REDUCE testicular weight (!!!!!). Smoking marijuana has been shown to significantly reduce luteinizing hormone (LH) in human males...In males LH stimulates...production and secretion of testosterone." Thus, the THC in marijuana has been shown to reduce the size of a man's testicles and inhibit the production of testosterone - the masculine Dominance Hormone. Dr. Fride and Dr. Sanudo-Pena also inform us: " Marijuana has been shown to have significant effects on weight (smaller), height (shorter) and head circumference (smaller) of newborns to mothers’ who used it during pregnancy and while breast feeding...It is interesting to note that males may be more at risk of the effects of drugs because of the effects on hormones...It is the application of male hormones that masculinize the brain. It is in this context that we wish to note that males who start (smoking marijuana) early have a more female like global (cerebral blood flow, CBF). It is generally accepted that females have a higher resting CBF than males...However, CBF of males who started using marijuana early was not different from females, but was significantly higher than" other males.
