Dyslexia prevented Patricia from reading until she was 14 years of age...the bullying was a horror...and then help appeared. She describes the terror of other children making fun of her difficulty deciphering the written word because Patricia reads by seeing the negative space around the words. Standing in front of the whole class, reading from a book, petrified her until she found teachers who knew how to work with her Learning disabilities.
