i tried to write this one with a Pink Floyd/David Gilmour feel. troubled by the truth (electric, 2016) faded memories of who i was. what did i know? an aging effigy, my hollow shell's been bought and sold i was just a worker bee -- sold my soul to the 1% so i could buy a big tv and happily i'd pay the rent now i'm old and sadly ignorance was wasted on my youth i'm just a crazy old man, troubled by the truth unhappiness i've found is a working clown turned upside down emptied pockets, a painted on smile, pushed aside without a sound now i'm old and sadly happiness was wasted on my youth i'm just an angry old man... troubled by the truth you wait your turn. when will you learn we're all set up to lose they take a way all your choices and then they make you choose lies, damned lies, you eat them up and they'll eat you till you run out of time or lose your mind... troubled by the truth they feed us lies to keep us apart and laugh from the mansion on the hill you say, "i'm free, it can't happen to me." there's no such thing and yes, it will now you're getting old thinking somehow you're entitled to your youth gonna wake up tattered and torn... troubled by the truth lies, damned lies, you eat them up and they'll eat you till you run out of time or lose your mind... troubled by the truth.
