'man of the family' when i was just a little boy my daddy came to me. he took me by my little hand out beneath the walnut tree. he said, son i'm gonna leave today... that's the way it's gotta be. and i know one day you'll understand... now you're the man of the family. mommy loved us more than anything and she tried to hide her pain. i'd hug my mommy when she cried and for me she'd do the same. i've lived my life inside myself afraid of who i'd be. never had my daddy show me how to be the man of the family. i'm older now than he was then, but i still feel 8 years old. and, no, i didn't understand but tried to do what i was told. dad's replaced us all 3 times since then with prefab families. guess he's trying to prove it to himself -- now he's the man of the family.
