Paternity Leave in Korea， 14 Years After Implementation It has been 14 years since the paternity leave system was implemented in Korea. With growing interest in the father′s role in parenting， the total number of men applying for paternity leave reached 2，800 in 2014， a 49％ increase from the previous year.
