The Reverend Joyce M. Matthews, Associate Rector, has been at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills Michigan since 2005. She is responsible for pastoral care and worship ministries. The Pastoral Care ministries are: Career Transition Network, Eucharistic Visitors, Healing Ministry, Lay Visitors, Prayer Card Ministry, Parish Health Ministry, Prayer Shawl Ministry, and The Worship ministries include: Acolytes Corp, Altar Guild, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Thurifer Corp, Usher Corp, Vergers Corp, Prayer Card Ministry. Joyce currently serves on the Diocesan Council and has served on several other Episcopal Diocese of Michigan committees; Vice President of Whitaker Institute Board, Healing Racism Trainer, and President of the Standing Committee. Joyce was born and raised in Detroit graduating from U of M with a Bachelor and Masters Degree in education where she graduated with distinction. Joyce has extensive experience in healthcare she directed and taught in Respiratory Therapy programs at Providence Hospital, Trinity Health Services, Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Centers, Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital, University of Detroit and Highland Park Community College Joyce also was part of the adjunct faculty for U of M, School of Education and Wayne State University School of Anesthesiology. She received her Master in Divinity Degree from Seabury Western Theological Seminary in 2005. Joyce is married to Lauriant and they have two daughters Renee, a Medical Doctor in Chicago, IL and Alycia a mechanical engineer working for DuPont Corporation in Valdosta, GA.
